November 2009
This is a hot new band known as Frandy. This was one of the performances at Crofoot in Pontiac, MI. Great music and a fantastic show, guys! Thanks for having me there to photograph such an exciting show! Crofoot is as hot as the band, a great place to go with friends for live music and a good time. |

January and February 2009
Well, there certainly is a lot of exciting news at DeLorme Photography for January and February. In January I attended the national convention of the Professional photographers of America in Phoenix, Arizona where I was very fortunate to have three national merit wedding photographs hanging on display at the International Print Exhibition. I also had the thrill to experience the formal degree ceremony during which I received my Master of Photography degree. Only four of us in the entire state of Michigan received our Master of Photography degrees and less than three percent of the 22,000 members of the PPA have experienced this thrill. I can't begin to express what this meant to me but it is without question the greatest accomplishment of my photographic career. In the photograph below from left to right are Dennis Craft, President of the Professional Photographers of America, myself and my PPA sponsor, Al Gordon. Dennis Craft is a master photographer from Marshall, Michigan and Al Gordon is a master photographer from Bradenton, Florida and also a recent past President of the Florida Professional Photographers. |

In February I took part in the state convention of the Professional Photographers of Michigan, in Lansing, where I entered a recent wedding album in competition. As it turned out, the panel of renouned national print judges awarded this album the blue ribon and it was the highest-scoring wedding album in the entire state. I was shocked! What a thrill! My passion for photography is again renewed! And then at the awards banquet, my album was given the very special recognition of the Fuji Masterpiece Award.
As the judges began their work of reviewing my album, their first comments were of the remarkable lighting. I love photographing "Weddings With Lighting Like the Movies!" I am so pleased that my passion for wedding photography is expressed in my work. Of all my photography assignments it is weddings that I find most rewarding. I love photographing weddings and it is certainly an honor to be asked to spend the entire day with a bride, a groom, their families and best friends and then tell the story of the entire day in a beautifully composed wedding album. The joy of telling such a story is truly a labor of love. Below are a few pages from the blue-ribbon album. What do you think of this wedding dress! The gorgeous dress and the spectacular sanctuary, at First Presbyterian Church in Flint, were selected as an orchestrated pair by the groom (who is a featured interior designer on this site ...see links page) to complement each other for this wedding at Christmas time. You can see below, some of the formal portraits requested by the bride and groom and others from the ceremony and fun-filled reception at the fabulous Lapeer Country Club. Please come to the studio and see the entire album! |
